Multnomah Falls // Travel

Because this was a trip that we decided to make into Matt’s early birthday trip, we tried to do things that he wanted to do!  One of the things Matt wanted to see was Multnomah falls, about 30 minutes east of where we were staying.

The weather was as Oregon as we could have expected—mostly gray, some misty rain, cool temperatures—but that didn’t deter us from going to visit the falls!

When we got there, we were limited to the main lower path due to the fires, but the view was still spectacular.  The height of the falls and elegant yet forceful descent of the water was so cool to see!  The falls are just off the highway, too, so we imagine there are a good number of lucky people that get to pass the falls every day!

Since we don’t see waterfalls every day, we spent a little extra time there, getting long exposure shots to show the water a different way (as well as film, of course!).  I was sufficiently VERY cold and started layering hats upon hats to stay warm, but stuck it out for Matt because I knew it was important to him!

When we finished up, we chased the sun back to Portland.  It was a lovely way to spend the evening.
