When you’re really into someone, you’ll do anything for them. You’ll drive 9 hours solo trying to beat a snowstorm because your friends hinted that your interest just *might* be interested in you, too. You maintain a long distance friendship by talking for hours about anything but that project you’re collaborating on. You decide after only seeing each other three times in person it’d be a good idea to do a road trip together. While you’re on that road trip, you may decide you’ve found your life partner. And when you have the opportunity to make your dating relationship not-so-long distance, you take it.

That’s where we met Kaelyn & Ryan on their journey together. Ryan recently moved to Connecticut to start a fellowship at Yale, and Kaelyn moved out with him a few weeks after. They’ve been through such a long period of not being in the same state, but seeing them together it was borderline impossible to imagine them ever having ben apart.

Their new lives in Connecticut are still unfolding, but documenting their engagement as well as their first non-long-distance stint in their relationship was a dream. It was wonderful to spend time at some of their normal spots and end the evening at one of their new favorites—a lighthouse on the water. Photos of our stunning evening to come soon!
