Below, you’ll find a list of the digital gear that I use for my photography business, including camera bodies, lenses, adaptors, etc. If you’d like to see a list of the film gear that I use, leave a comment below, and I can put together that list as well!
Cameras:
While I have worked with many different camera brands over the years, Canon bodies have always felt the most natural in my hands. While Sony has released some incredible cameras, and Fuji has been doing some fascinating things recently, for now, my recommendation to most photographers would be to pick up an R6.
Lenses:
The lenses below are listed in the order equivalent to the amount I use them on a wedding day and how I feel about them in general. The 50 1.2 is by far my favorite, and I would feel pretty comfortable documenting a wedding with just that lens. Rounding out the podium though, are the lenses I use to build variety and story into each couple’s gallery. The 85 is great for those classic portraits, whereas the 17-40 is incredible on the dance floor and for capturing stunning images of the location.
Digital Accessories:
You can never (and I mean never) have enough memory cards or batteries.
A variety of SanDisk Extreme Pro 64GB & Extreme Pro 32GB Memory Cards
Backup Gear:
These are items that I used at one point but have phased out as I have improved and upgraded my setup. I still bring them along to weddings, as it’s essential to have backups for anything that could break.
