Paris Destination Wedding Inspiration // Lucille

If you’ve ever thought of having a destination wedding, I’m convinced you have to think of Paris first. A destination wedding in Paris embodies so many things—elegance, romance, and timelessness to name a few.

When we went to Paris to create destination wedding inspiration for couples who love the attirance of Paris, we knew that we wanted that je ne sais quoi to come across in our images. Actually having our ideas come to life was a small feat, though 😉

Initially we had a connection with a bridal shop and were able to choose from their dresses. There were a good number of options, but there weren’t too many that really fit the vision we had. We chose two that were somewhat close and inquired, only to find those dresses were no longer available. We tried with our third and fourth choices, only to find those were also not available. The rest of the dresses, while numerous, just did not fit what we envisioned. One option totally eliminated, with no Plan B. We needed a dress.

We scheduled a shoot with Lucille, our model, but ran into scheduling problems because of not having a dress and because of the time change adjustment. To say that this shoot was a tough one to set up would be an understatement!

Thankfully, our model was a Godsend from a few years back. Matt invited a friend from his study abroad days to model for us, and she is an amazing person. Lucille’s kindness and humility were next level. Her beauty is striking, the kind that can almost see through you. We were so excited to work with her!

While we finally worked things out in terms of scheduling with Lucille, there were still other pieces that had to come together, chief among them being locating a dress. This occupied our thoughts as we were showing our friends Paris, enjoying her beauty but wondering how we were going to solve The Great Dress Problem of 2019.

Our fortune looked up as we walked back to our Airbnb—we passed a beautiful bridal boutique, with white and gold accents, an inviting interior (no door handle, though), and clearly couture gowns. Matt, being the bold person he is, decided to message the shop to ask about their dresses. His boldness was rewarded with an invitation to look at their dresses and see if one would work out for our Parisian destination wedding shoot!

With the help of Emma & Clementine, we were able to find a few dresses that suited our vision perfectly. Our emotions were a carefully balanced cocktail of excitement, relief, anticipation with a dash of nerves, and swirling creativity.

As we got ready for the day, we couldn’t have been happier with how things had fallen together for our shoot with Lucille.
