You may have noticed by now, but I truly believe that stories matter.  I genuinely believe that they affect lives, direct them even.  Stories have a way of helping life makes sense, they tie everything together, they ties lives together.  A few weeks ago, I posted my immediate family’s most recent family photos, our most recent life update. As such we wanted to share those photos with my grandmother who lives in Colorado. After seeing them she asked if I would be willing to do some nice family photos that included her, to which I happily obliged. She didn’t say it in these exact words but I took her request as wishing to be written in as part of our story, proof that she had played a role.

Sometimes it’s so hard for long distance relatives to feel close.  It was so wonderful to be able to hand her a tangible promise that she is an important part of our lives.

Photos are able tell stories, long after words have forgotten them.
