Some moments in life feel like a dream—fleeting yet unforgettable. Photographing Pierre and Michelle in the French countryside was one of those moments. This editorial held a special significance, not just because of the breathtaking scenery but because of the personal connections woven throughout.
Pierre and Michelle are dear friends, and having the opportunity to document their love in such an idyllic setting was an honor. Our history with Pierre stretches back to 2014, when he was Amanda’s host brother during our time studying in France. In 2021, we returned as guests for a wedding, and everything aligned to create an editorial in a place that has long held a piece of my heart.
For years, I had envisioned creating wedding portraits in France—images that felt ethereal, timeless, and steeped in the romance of the South. In my mind, that vision was always set in lavender fields, their soft, swaying florals reflecting the region’s effortless elegance. We found the perfect location just outside Bonnieux, one where nature and artistry could intertwine.
Michelle was radiant, her joy illuminating every frame. The delicate movement of her veil, the golden light casting a warm glow over the lavender, and the gentle presence of Pierre by her side—all came together to create something truly magical. The goal was to craft images that felt both deeply rooted in place and effortlessly romantic.
This experience was not only about the photography; it was about fulfilling a dream. Creating art in a place I love, with people who I cherish, was an unforgettable gift.
