Black and white imagery is still important today because it lends a certain timeless quality to the images. There’s an aesthetic appeal to the images that is hard to put into words. It’s a good choice when the color in a photo serves as a distraction from the message you want the image to convey. You often feel more connected to a person in a black and white image; with color gone, it’s simply about the connection you have with the subject.
