A Sentimental Enagement Session in Baltimore

Emily and Nigel’s engagement session in Baltimore was effortlessly cool—comfortable, natural, and filled with the kind of quiet moments that make a love story feel real. Though they currently live in Boston, they wanted their session to reflect a place that held special memories for them. Rather than choosing a location just for the backdrop, they focused on what truly mattered: great light and a setting that felt authentic to their story. With that in mind, we took a documentary-style approach, moving through the city in a way that felt organic and unforced.

We started at John Hopkins, where soft light filtered through the trees, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for their first portraits. From there, we wandered through the Hampden neighborhood, capturing small, in-between moments—the way Emily reached for Nigel’s hand without thinking, the laughter that came easily between them. It was less about posing and more about presence, letting the city and their connection guide the session.

We wrapped up at Blue Bird, a cocktail bar that holds a special place in their story—it’s where they had their first date. Sitting at the bar, reminiscing over old memories while making new ones, the moment felt both nostalgic and full of anticipation for everything ahead.

Emily and Nigel, your love for each other and for this city made this session so special. It was an honor to document this season of your lives in a way that felt true to you.
