As a wedding photographer, I’ve always been drawn to the magic of film—the way it transforms fleeting moments into timeless heirlooms. When Alexa Kate Events and I set out to create this editorial at Breakforth Studio in Cleveland, our goal was to transport viewers beyond the cityscape and immerse them in the romance of a European garden. Through the intentional artistry of film and Alexa’s incredible eye for design, we were able to bring this vision to life, blending old-world charm with modern elegance.

Our Artistic Vision: Merging Old-World Romance with a Modern City

Inspired by the elegant gardens and historic architecture of Europe, Alexa and I wanted this editorial to evoke the charm of an intimate, sun-drenched estate while still honoring the contemporary energy of Cleveland.  Caroline of Passiflora meticulously curated delicate floral arrangements, soft pastel hues, and flowing textures that whispered of grand estates in the French countryside or the rolling gardens of Tuscany. Meanwhile, my choice to photograph on film truly set the mood—offering a depth and painterly quality that digital photography often struggles to replicate.

Shooting on film requires a level of intentionality that perfectly aligns with the artistry of weddings, and Alexa’s expertise in styling complemented this approach beautifully.
