Not a likely quote for the Friends character Ross, but from the guy who plays him?  He’s on to something.

Without a challenge, life can become stagnant.  To be honest, that kind of frightens me.  What is the purpose in living without new things to experience?  Humans are obsessed with new.  Sometimes God puts new things at your feet and sometimes you have to seek them out–what we did with Sydney was a combination of both.

We knew that Sydney was a swimmer (she first started being underwater at six months old!), so that big portion of her life needed to be documented.  Years of practice and dedication are worth capturing!  

We started in the natatorium with some more traditional shots–Sydney with her letterman jacket, with her medals.  But then she got in the pool…

Swimming has always impressed me but seeing her coming bursting out of the water reminded me just how much respect I have for these athletes. It was such a privilege to capture Sydney in her element and step out of ours; we even hopped into the pool for a little while as well. 😉
