Fripp Island, South Carolina
It was a little bit like being in an action movie.
Matt and I were finishing up an engagement blog post when we looked up and saw the sky in a beautiful hue of pink, and we knew immediately we had to drop everything and chase the light (photographer problems).
We burst outside, scampered down the stairs, and started running through the gravel roads toward the beach. The sun was going down over the tops of the houses, so we tried our best to increase speed (which is difficult in flip flops!). There was a truck backing a boat up into a driveway, so we planned ahead. In my mind I pictured us jumping over the connection between the truck and the boat, but the real me was respectful and ran around the front of the truck 😉
We turned the corner, me panting slightly with a pain in my side, to reveal the light still available on the waterfront. However, the pink sky was gone, and the sun was going down over houses, not the water.
We still made the best of it by enjoying the ocean at night and talking together about the day. Before we knew it, we were swapping the digital camera back and forth, taking photos of everything and anything that we thought was worth the capture.
Matt ran with the idea of a video. It’s nice to have creativity reign, even when your original plan doesn’t work out 😉
