Throughout my years in the wedding industry, I have had the incredible privilege of meeting many wonderful people. One standout is Amy of Hawthorne & Poppy Events. She is an exceptional designer with a talent for incorporating the unique and meaningful elements of people’s lives into their wedding designs. Beyond her design skills, Amy is also a remarkable person and friend.
I was truly honored when she invited me to Austin to document a wedding day for her company. The couple had hired a fantastic photography duo, but, as is the case on a wedding day, multiple narratives unfold simultaneously. While the couple’s story is always the main plot, we wanted to make sure that the effort, aesthetic, and seamless execution Amy brought to the day were also documented beautifully.
Some of my favorite images from the day focus on the tablescape. Everything was perfectly arranged, and the dappled sunlight highlighted the beautiful details—almost as if the light was a spotlight on the intentional and stunning design Amy helped bring to life.
