Georgetown, D.C.
If you’ve been following us for a little while, it’s no surprise that we’re down for a spur-of-the-moment trip. This one came in the form of our friend Sarah, who (knowing we’re francophone and francophiles!) invited us to Georgetown’s French market. The market only happens once a year, so we immediately adjusted our schedules to spend time with our dear friend in a new (to us) place!
We spent most of the day moseying about the market, pausing to sniff fresh flowers and to run our hands over various textiles. The only downfall was that day was an absolute scorcher (unseasonably so), so we were ducking in and out of shops and cafes for a reprieve from the heat.
After a fair bit of walking, exploring, and searching for an oasis, we found a partially-enclosed rooftop cafe where there were games, iced coffees, and air conditioning to spare!
Even though it wasn’t entirely as we expected, we were so glad to explore a new place.
