In the world of adult relationships, it seems it’s nearly impossible to meet someone if you aren’t looking online or very purposefully putting yourself out there. This was not the case for Natalie & Aymen.
New York City, January day. Aymen passes Natalie on the street and compliments her on her legs 😉
…and now they’re married. From that one observation to here, Natalie & Aymen’s relationship has grown so beautifully. Being from different backgrounds not based in NYC, they made it a point to meet each other’s families. Natalie’s family is from a suburb of Cleveland, and Aymen’s family is from Tunisia.
This made for an amazing celebration at the Cleveland Yachting Club! Family and friends came from all over America and beyond to celebrate Natalie & Aymen’s marriage. Their ceremony was in Tunisian Arabic and English so everyone could follow what was happening and participate in the celebration!
One of our favorite not-every-wedding things we got to do on this day was speak French with Aymen’s family ALL DAY!!! Amanda was in heaven using French and being helpful, and it was so easy to communicate (for the most part 😉 ).
Cultural differences came out even more when it was time for the reception to be in full swing. Stromae and Arabic songs we wish we knew the titles of were intermingled with your “traditional” American reception jams. Many members of the family were outside smoking, but were never too far from the action on the dance floor. Natalie’s extended family and Aymen’s extended family came together as one, dancing and celebrating with the two of them!
Other highlights include: Aymen’s father giving a heartfelt speech in French and seeing half the room understand and half the room wait patiently, Natalie with all her friends getting ready in her childhood home, and Aymen being the picture of joy all day long. Seriously.
This is going to be a hard one to beat.
