It’s December 23rd and there’s so much to do. Yet I couldn’t help but sit in front of our Christmas tree and think about what a privilege it is to cherish this unique season. When else do we get to come home and smell nutmeg, cinnamon, and pine? To spend time with cherished family who take the time to travel to be together, even in the busyness of life?
In this season there’s a joy present, and I wanted to write something reminding you–even just briefly–to look for that joy. To hold onto it as tightly as you can. The Christmas season is good for that, and for me the reason for that joy goes beyond this time period. It goes to the fact that the reason for the season lives today and affects my story every moment. Choose joy, whatever it is that brings you joy in this season. I wish you all the best.
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11 ESV
