Being back on the Pacific coast, I (Amanda) thought back to my first time being at the Pacific Ocean.  Going to the Pacific Ocean is one of those classic American bucket list items for those who don’t live on the coastline. It feels cliché, but it’s also an experience that is different than any other, albeit slightly.  

Going to the ocean is a mix of familiarity and discovery.  While no two trips are the same, there is a certain comfort that greets me every time.  The combination provided by the waves, the sand, and the salty breeze lets me know that I’m in a home of sorts.
