You want your engagement photos to look good, and so do we.
Engagement photos are for marking the time in your life when you’re caught in the season of anticipation leading up to your wedding. They capture the love you’ve decided on forever as well as a touch of the excitement of actually getting married. From the photography standpoint, we love these purposes, but we also love how versatile engagement photos are. You’ll likely be using your engagement photos for your save the dates, wedding website, shower thank-you’s…the list goes on!
So in order to take advantage of this moment and make sure you’re looking your best, don’t miss these easy-to-forget details:
1. Get your ring cleaned. This seems minor, but the difference in shine is worth it! This is especially true as your photographer will want to get up close and personal with your ring for a bit of the session.
2. Make sure your nails look the way you want. They don’t have to be professionally manicured, but ensure that you aren’t gardening with your mom that morning and that your nail color complements your outfit choice. We’ve seen some beautifully done nails that clash with the outfit, and such a small thing really does make a huge difference!
3. The same goes for toes. We like to take cute footsie shots, so make sure your feet look as polished as possible! Heels help so much with this (plus they help your calves and butt look great while you’re walking around!). If you’re not comfy in heels, bring a pair to change into once you get where you’re going!
4. Leave your hair ties at home. If your hair is done well (whether by a professional or by a talented friend), you shouldn’t need the extra hair control help! This helps prevent a hair tie slipping into a shot by living on your wrist.
