When brainstorming with Jenn & Steven about their engagement session a few different options came to mind. When chatting about what the couple does with their free time, some more “snuggly” options rose to the top of the list. Puzzles, Netflix and cooking dinner together were all mentioned pretty quickly. Naturally, we suggested in an in home session, a perfect way to capture all those fond memories.
As the day for their session drew closer though we re-evaluated our plan. When chatting with Jenn she mentioned how this phase of life is full of transition. Steven is actually working to sell his house currently, looking for a place that they can call home together. It felt odd then, to create images in a place they would soon move on from, even if the activities and memories would move with them.
As I pondered our change in direction, and possibly scoured Jenn’s Instagram feed, I noticed that while they clearly we’re laid back the majority of the time they could definitely class it up. I also remembered that during our first meeting together, Steven had mentioned that he really loves gorgeous architecture. We corresponded back and forth for a bit but eventually settled on the Cleveland Museum of Art for our venue. I think you’ll figure out why pretty quickly. 😉
We also made sure to stop at the Cleveland Cultural Gardens, attempting to balance the beautiful buildings with some more natural elements. Throughout the evening we covered a number of topics, including but not limited to Italy, honeymooning, travel, wedding planning and home buying.
Overall it just a great evening and a wonderful opportunity to get to know them a little better. We’re so excited for their wedding the fall!! 🙂
