Cannon Beach, Oregon
Because Oregon is such a beautiful place, we wanted to take advantage of it. We went to Multnomah Falls, walked around Portland, and stopped at any place that spoke to us. Right before leaving, we learned another photographer was doing the same with her husband—going to Oregon for a short visit to take in its beauty and explore. We organized a shoot at Cannon Beach, one of our top destinations to visit.
To be honest, meeting up with strangers from the internet for photos can be a little weird. You don’t know each other; you just trust each other based on the editing system you both use as well as some creeping on their gallery work and go from there. This time, though, we lucked out!
When we first saw Emma & Jason approaching from far away, him looking slim and dapper in his navy suit and her looking dreamy in her billowing dress, we knew we were going to have a great night. We said our first hellos, made a quick plan, and got the jitters out while being in total awe of the scene: foggy but bright, mist rolling off the waves and hitting the lush green mountainsides. The four of us took a minute to take it all in, then started creating art for one another.
There were several other photo shoots going on around us, but there were moments when it felt like we were on an island, lost in the momentum of creating and swept away by the way these two looked at each other!
The Pacific surprised us several times with its icy waves, but being on this beach with Emma & Jason was so, so worth it.
