The beauty of Emma and Patrick is in the fact they are totally different people.  Emma is a vegetarian, Patrick is a committed carnivore.  Emma pays attention to the little details, while Pat is more interested in the grand scheme of things.  Emma is a wine lover and Pat loves whiskey. But as anyone who has been in love knows, when you love you risk being changed by that love.

When Pat’s brother and best man Brian was making his speech at the reception he talked about how Emma miraculously got Pat to eat asparagus with his meat-heavy meal.  After that happened Brian said that he knew this girl had to be special…love changes you. 

Emma is really good at expressing love through giving gifts. She gave her niece & nephew sweet tokens to remember the day and her mom a handkerchief embroidered with the words from a children’s book: forever and always, my baby you’ll be.

One of our favorite surprises was that Emma had arranged for bagpipers to play before the ceremony and during cocktail hour to celebrate Pat”s Irish heritage.

Pat is one who expresses love well through words.  This was especially noticeable when he made his speech at the reception.  When he was talking about Emma, his love was palpable in the room!

The love between these two is so evident. Congrats Emma & Pat!
