“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – H. Jackson Brown Jr.
We met up with Reilly and her grandma (Mimi!) on a summer Tuesday to take advantage of Cleveland’s beautiful Cultural Gardens. Reilly had just returned from a summer full of traveling–from Florida to France, she had a number of adventures! The thing that surprised us about Reilly, though, is her easy going nature. Usually people we meet who love traveling and doing new things can be a little intense, but Reilly didn’t fit that mold at all. She’s happy to do whatever, including taking risks and leaving the country.
We knew we wanted to include water in Reilly’s session, so we revisited a fountain that when we last saw it had been covered in leaves, dormant for the season. We thought the fountain was beautiful in the winter, but in the summer prime it was just what we wanted!
Since we were in the Cultural Gardens, we paid a visit to Reilly’s heritage–Ireland. From above, the path in the Irish Garden is in the shape of a Celtic cross. It may have made us want to go back to Ireland…immediately!
As time went on, you could see Reilly transition from a little nervous, to confident, to confident and playful (violin techniques noted!).
We said our goodbyes as the sun was setting, excited to look at what we had created. And then MEP went out for a Guinness 😉
