What would your ideal morning look like?
Something that Matt has really come to cherish about Amanda is that she can be quite the happy morning squirrel. Mornings are a special time when we can be together; they hold new opportunities and the promise of memories. To be able to be with the person you love most in the world first thing is an incredible gift. Chris is very similar to Amanda in the fact he really loves mornings.
When we started planning the engagement session with Emma and Chris, we talked about doing an in home session to get those cozy feelings on camera. We love to create spaces where our couples are able to feel comfortable and just spend time together, and in home sessions lend themselves to that. We also love in home sessions because we get an incredible opportunity to learn a lot about the people whose wedding day we will be documenting; there’s something about being in somebody’s home that allows intimacy and friendship. Plus we just think in home sessions are super cute and snuggly.
Uopn arriving at Emma and Chris’ apartment, we asked what the morning would normally look like for them. They were so open to trying anything, including just trying to be normal! And then it was natural. The day unfolded with Emma and Chris getting coffee, sitting at the table, and laughing a lot! Shortly after coffee, they sat down at the couch and snuggled for a bit while soccer was on the TV. Life as usual (but with cameras 😉 ) occurred in Emma and Chris’ apartment. But of course because it’s an engagement session we had to take a couple of detours, which included going out onto the chilly porch for some gorgeous photos in the morning light.
We ended our time with Emma and Chris by going up to the penthouse of their apartment (which, not going to lie, felt very fancy and posh). They took an album of their travels up to the penthouse and shared some of their favorite travel experiences with us. The best part about being up there was learning more about them, like Emma’s deep-seated fondness for Ireland and Chris’ creativity in code names. 😉
As we were spending time with Emma and Chris, we knew it was our ideal way to spend a morning—getting to know more about people we’re serving. And drinking coffee.
