It was like a love story out of an 80’s movie (play (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life while reading this for best results).
Allie and Tommy met at a party. They both have the same Casio calculator watch (have you seen one of those lately? They’re amazing), which isn’t something many people have. It was geek love. Plus Tommy’s in a band, and those are always in movies, right?
Six years later, Allie and Tommy got some unfortunate news (there is seriously never a good enough or strong enough way to put this). Allie was diagnosed with cancer. Through treatments that changed their lives, Allie and Tommy continued on. Allie’s coworkers put together a “Rally for Allie” to support her (check out the blue bracelet he wore on their wedding day). Family and friends gathered around to support Allie and Tommy, showering them with love.
Allie was able to have all of the cancer removed last fall, and has had clear scans ever since! As such, she and Tommy started planning their wedding. On their wedding day, both Allie and Tommy were beaming even more than we usually see.
They made it to this point. Georgie, Allie’s childhood friend and the officiant, mentioned during the ceremony that “2016 was a rough year” for the couple (cue tears from everyone). But they made it through. Love truly endures all things.
There was also a sweet afterparty for family and close friends! This couple knows how to celebrate. 🙂
