When people ask us about how we’ve been the past month or so, this is one of our favorite events to look back on. From the nerves in the morning to the excitement and love from all around all day, Sydney & Jake’s wedding was a great day.
We started the morning at the hotel with getting ready photos, watching Sydney answer questions promptly and as calmly as possible with just a sliver of nerves visible here and there. When it was time to leave for Sydney & Jake’s first look, we talked about the groom’s plan—to sit in the front section of the party bus with Sydney also on the bus. One of them had to be blindfolded, so might as well pick the one who occasionally gets motion sickness. 😉
We offered to take Jake with us, and we had a fun (visible) ride together to the first look location. Once we got there, we were so excited to have Sydney and Jake see each other. On a day with such excitement, there’s something about seeing the one you’re committing to that is so, so calming. Jake was swaying a bit on his feet, waiting for Sydney to get from the bus to him.
When she tapped him on the shoulder, all was well. Sydney & Jake looked at each other, something they do every day, but were able to see so much more on their wedding day—the beginning of their future.
The rest of the day was filled with laughter, a fair amount of tomfoolery from the bridal party, and loving looks from family, friends and neighbors. The friendship represented at Sydney & Jake’s wedding was so strong, and it made for quite the party. 😉
Congratulations to Sydney & Jake!
