As far as we’re concerned, this time of year is the time for cozy. The cold outside is balanced with golden sunlight and the promise of enjoying it from the top of a mug…or a mimosa, as was the case the morning of Brittany & Kegan’s wedding!

When you schedule a winter wedding, you know that anything is possible. Beautiful sparkling snow, a crazy blizzard, brown slush, and green grass are all possibilities, so a low-key couple is necessary. When we arrived to start capturing details and getting ready photos of the bride & bridesmaids, Brittany was so relaxed. She was perched on a chair getting her hair done, not seeming to be concerned about anything (if you knew how organized she is, you probably would also not be concerned!).

The morning went by smoothly and slowly, with plenty of time to take in the emotions and sip mimosas. Brittany and her bridesmaids were also wearing matching getting ready pajamas, which added to the cozy vibe of the day!

Before everyone left for the ceremony, Brittany got to share a first look with her dad. Amanda is a daddy’s girl, so this is always one of her favorite moments (although let’s be honest, there aren’t many moments we don’t love about weddings. Seriously.)!

We got to the church where Brittany & Kegan were to start the rest of their lives together. It felt formal and exciting at the same time, then it transitioned to just fun. When Brittany and her dad got to the end of the aisle and shook the groom’s hand, Kegan let out a great laugh! We didn’t find out until the reception what it was exactly, but we loved the story: Brittany, when she got engaged, never said yes to Kegan, she just said: “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” because he was making one of her childhood dreams come true. To make things come full circle, Brittany’s dad said to Kegan when he was giving his daughter away, “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

The reception was like walking up to a fire after being outside in the brisk weather—it was filled with warm tones, cozy and classy, and just Christmasy enough to let everyone feel the cheer. The glow of the room matched the glow of the couple.

The revelry lasted late into the evening, and when it came time to say goodbye and wish everyone a Merry Christmas we were sad to go. Congratulations Brittany & Kegan! We loved spending the day with you!
