“Shim’s big day! Shim’s big day!” -the soundtrack to our day, being chanted by the bridal party, getting amped for Shelby & Jimmy (“shimmy”)’s big day.  

When you’ve been dating for a while, you tend to round up a team–people who have known you since the beginning and will continue to support you until the end.  Shelby & Jimmy’s team had been accumulating for almost ten years, so their wedding was overflowing with people who loved them!

The bridal party was the best example of this.  From siblings, to lifelong friends, to students-turned-friends that called them “Mom” and “Dad”, Shelby & Jimmy’s tribe was SO excited all day long.  They chanted, cheered, teared up and Matt and I joined right in with them. It was impossible not to be swept up in Shelby & Jimmy’s joy.  

In the car on the way to one of our photo locations, Jimmy mentioned, “This day isn’t for us; it’s for everybody else.”  Shelby & Jimmy already knew they would be together forever, but they threw this party for everybody to join in on their happiness.

Which they totally did.

So in conclusion, congratulations to Shelby & Jimmy! We sincerely hope that your love stays as young, genuine and joyful as it was on your wedding day. We’re looking forward to many years of friendship. 🙂

Bonus: Shelby & Jimmy both love the movie Up, so they included some elements of it into their wedding day details.  The ring boxes had balloons tied to them, the guestbook resembled Ellie  Carls house, and guests threw paper airplanes for the grand exit!
