Long distance relationships never last.
Unless God’s hand is clearly in them.
Mallorie and Nathi have both experienced long, at times lonely journeys to their wedding day. We met Mallorie through her leadership at Ashland University, and she used her testimony of waiting on God’s promises throughout her messages there. One of the earliest messages we remember was connected to the promise that she would have a family. God had communicated this to her and assured her that she was beloved, a theme that would carry on throughout subsequent years.
Cue mission trip to South Africa. Mallorie has always had a heart for Africa, but this mission trip held something unexpected–it was on this trip that she met Nathi. The two connected and developed a relationship that they would continue through extremely committed means: 3 transatlantic voyages, 403 Facetime calls, 43,565 miles traveled to visit each other and spend time together. Mallorie and Nathi have been through many challenges to maintain their relationship, but God saw them through it all. Nathi proposed to Mallorie at sunrise on a mountain in South Africa, where he presented her with a special beaded Zulu engagement bracelet, which you can take a glimpse of in the pictures.
Their story is amazing, and their wedding day surrounded by some family but many lifelong friends was a true worship of what God has created in their lives. We are so excited to see what is next for Mallorie and Nathi!
