Wooster, Ohio
Working with Anthony was similar to working with most senior guys, they begrudgingly accept getting their senior photos done, and only comply because their mother wants them.
With this in mind, I made it my personal mission to create images that Anthony would like. The end goal was to make him look as confident as possible, to create images that he would look at and feel awesome. That being said, we didn’t want the desire for “cool” photos to distract from our goal of reflecting the who Anthony really is. He’s a super sharp looking guy and an incredibly talented athlete. Fortunately, he and his family decided to have his session at the Wooster Brewery which provided for some some unique locations as well as unique challenges.
I made sure to crack enough jokes at my own expense that he smirked at least enough to take a good smiling picture, and he even genuinely smiled once or twice. As the session progressed, since Anthony was so amendable to my creative vision, I was able to think outside the box and try to really push to create that image that would he would be impressed by. This of course transitioned into sun flares and more editorial angles.
In the end, I did in fact receive a few ‘oh wow’s and ‘I like that’s and I was able to leave smiling. On top of those compliments from Anthony his mom loved the images as well. 😉
